ISO 9001:2000 - Olive Oil Extraction and Bottling - issued by Instituto Mediterraneo Di Certificazione

Willani is an ISO 9001:2000 certified company by the IMC for Olive oil extraction and bottling.

The certification number is: 00008/SQ - RV.01

What is certification according to ISO 9001:2000?

The family of voluntary standards ISO 9000 has been written in order to help organizations to implement efficient Quality Management Systems, with the aim to facilitate national and international trade. Those norms do not refer to the product, they only refer to the Quality Management System implemented by the organization. This Quality Management System has been implemented in order to satisfy not only the requirements of the customers at different levels (clients, traders, final consumers) but to satisfy all the stakeholders as well (e. g. organization employees, owners, shareholders and the suppliers of the organization itself).

The family of norms ISO 9000 is composed from:

  1. ISO 9000: It is related to the quality management system, specifying some terminology.
  2. ISO 9001: It is related to the requirements of the quality management systems that an organization, which tries to achieving the customers satisfaction, must apply with the aim to demonstrate its own ability to supply products satisfying the customer requirements and those previewed by the law that are applicable.
  3. ISO 9004: It supplies guidelines, with the aim to help the organization in the process of steady improvement of its own performances and of the customers and stakeholders satisfaction.
  4. ISO 19011: It supplies a guide on the inspecting verifications in quality management systems and in environmental management systems.

ISO 9000 standard in the current version is the result of the decennial program of revision and improvement carried out by the competent ISO technical committee, with the aim to reach, among others, the following goals:

  1. The full harmonisation with ISO 14001
  2. Norm ISO 9001 and norm ISO 9004 are organized in a similar way, based on the concept of "consistent pairs".
  3. Requirements of the norms easily adaptable to the company management.
  4. Management systems are based on steady improvement and prevention of non conformities.
  5. Simplification of the norms implementation and easy company auto-evaluation.
  6. Applicable to all sectors and dimensions of the organizations.

In order to rich these goals the following innovations are highlighted:

  1. The basic elements concerning the management system have been reduced from twenty (previous version, 1994) to five (version now in force).
  2. Certain system requirements could be evaluated as not applicable to the organization.
  3. More attention to the processes management and to the customer satisfaction.
  4. More prescriptions for the steady improvement. Measurable objectives should be clearly identified.

The family of the ISO 9000 is a coherent group of norms for Quality Management System, but only ISO 9001:2000 is effectively mentioned in the certificate issued by the certification body once the organization has completed the certification process.
